Roundtable Discussion: Seeking Unity in the SBC

DO YOU OFTEN FEEL LIKE THE WORLD IS POLARIZING … MIGRATING TO EXTREMES ON BOTH ENDS OF THE SPECTRUM?  OFTEN TIMES THAT CAN EVEN FEEL TRUE IN THE CHURCH.

To discuss ways to more effectively navigate toxic polarization, the BCM/D is partnering with The Matthew 5:9 Fellowship to host a Roundtable Discussion entitled “Seeking Unity in the SBC.” This Roundtable Discussion will also feature our SBC President, Bart Barber, who will be with us to discuss the issues that are affecting the Southern Baptist Convention in this way. We will also be sharing a brief update from our Sexual Abuse Taskforce and the strides that we are making to resource our churches.

Discipleship Workshop #2 (with Dr. Blake Hardcastle)

The DBA is pleased to offers a free workshop on how to make disciples in today's world. This workshop will be led by Dr. Blake Hardcastle, who as Director of Baptist Student Ministry at the University of Delaware, has devoted over two decades of his life to discipling men and women from around the world.

Two identical workshops will be offered: one on March 10 (at London Village) & the other on March 17 (at Sycamore Hill).

Designed for pastors and church members, Blake says, this workshop is "an opportunity for participants to examine their current discipleship practice, be exposed to others approaches, and consider adjustments," all within a hands-on workshop format.

There will not be a discipleship model that all are encouraged to adopt. Rather, you will be exposed to the many discipleship practices so you can adjust and augment what you are currently doing—if needed. You will get to play with ideas in a temporary environment.
